Paintings about the weight of ordinary light
Recent work, made between the studio and the coast over two winters.
Recent work
The new paintings start from small observations: a shadow on a wall, the colour of a road after rain. They are built slowly, in thin layers, over months.
Most are oil on linen. A few smaller works on paper came out of the same walks and are shown alongside them.
The paintings hold still long enough for the room to move around them.
